Vantage Data Centers

A cross-continent sign rollout for a global provider of digital data management centres.

Vantage provides large scale IT data centres for big businesses, iCloud providers and digital hyper-scalers. Not surprisingly, their server systems are housed in large data centres around the globe.

Challenge

For this project we not only needed to address external signage but work on the extensive wayfinding signage for visitors and employees to navigate their way around their buildings and campuses.

Solution

Once again, this type of global activation project provided us with the opportunity to apply our design and manufacturing expertise, along with our global partner networks, to deliver a consistently high quality rollout across their global estate.

Collaboration and teamwork are vital factors in our process, and the Vantage project saw us work closely with Scott AG, their global brand guardians in the US, and the Vantage marketing team.

As their preferred supplier for their Europe, Middle East and Asia territories, we delivered multiple company sign installations across Berlin, Frankfurt, Cardiff and Johannesburg, while also completing 15 projects across Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia for their Asia Pacific region.

Conclusion

Each project lasted on average 12 weeks, and our work included detailed technical surveys before design, manufacture and installation.

One of the key challenges of this project was timing our involvement with planned completion dates for each data centre, often in a different timescale to the next one. In one instance, with so many different trades people completing a data centre, we were part of 1,300 contractors on-site.

Internally we designed, made and installed signage for reception areas and wayfinding, including braille and tactile signs. Externally, our work included high level illuminated letters, ‘totem’ signs, car park and directional signage.
